Cerdi specializes in engineering for corrosion prevention of metal structures. We offer a complete package of cathodic protection services — from analysis and design to installation and follow-up — across a wide range of applications.

Our Expertise

A complete service, from start to finish

Thanks to our technical expertise and years of specialization, we develop thoughtful and efficient tailor-made solutions for every application. With our certified team, we guarantee a professional approach and durable protection against corrosion.

Our Process

How we protect your assets

From the first assessment to long-term maintenance, our five-step approach ensures reliable, standards-compliant corrosion protection for your installation.

01

Advice & Risk Analysis

A well-designed cathodic protection starts with a thorough analysis. Our specialists map corrosion risks, environmental factors and construction characteristics, then advise on the most suitable protection strategy for your installation.

Detailed on-site risk assessment and technical evaluation

02

Design & Engineering

We design tailor-made solutions for cathodic protection — for both galvanic systems and impressed current systems. We select the right materials, define protection criteria and ensure a design according to applicable standards and directives.

Custom system designs, fully compliant with standards

03

Delivery & Installation

Cerdi handles the installation of cathodic protection systems. Our certified technicians install anodes, measurement points, rectifiers and cabling with strict attention to safety and quality. Every system is tested and properly commissioned.

Certified technicians, safe and quality-driven installations

04

Monitoring & Inspection

A well-functioning system requires follow-up. We carry out periodic inspections and measurements to verify protection levels and detect deviations in time. Where necessary, we deploy monitoring solutions for continuous follow-up.

Periodic checks and continuous monitoring solutions

05

Maintenance & Optimization

After commissioning, we continue to support your installation with preventive and corrective maintenance. Since some standards require annual inspections, we ensure your system remains compliant and protection stays reliable in the long term.

Hull Protection
Maritime & Shipping

Complete and reliable protection for ships

Choose permanent protection via impressed current instead of periodic installation of sacrificial anodes.

Corrosion of ship hulls has a major impact on the lifespan, safety and maintenance costs of vessels. With our cathodic protection services, we support shipowners, shipyards and vessel operators in analyzing, designing, installing and following up efficient protection systems.

A key foundation is carrying out detailed hull potential measurements across the entire surface of the ship hull. Based on a large number of measurement points, we build a 360° heatmap that visualizes potential distribution across the hull. This analysis allows us to identify under-protected or over-protected zones and evaluate the performance of existing systems.

Based on this measurement data, we carry out custom design studies to determine the most suitable cathodic protection system, taking into account coating condition, hull geometry, operational profile, and environmental parameters such as water conductivity and temperature. For implementation, we handle placement and installation together with experienced partners, both during dry-dock periods and via underwater installation by professional divers when needed.

  • Stray currents and external electrical influences
  • Defective or poorly performing anodes
  • Problems with current distribution or reference electrodes
Underground Protection
Tank Stations

Safe tank stations that meet all applicable standards

Ensure the safety of your tank station and protect your valuable infrastructure.

Underground metal installations at tank stations — such as storage tanks and pipelines — are permanently exposed to corrosion risks due to contact with damp soil and electrochemical influences. With our specialized cathodic protection services, we support operators, installers and owners in ensuring safe and standards-compliant protection of this infrastructure.

An essential part of our approach is reliable potential measurements on underground structures. These measurements make it possible to assess the effectiveness of existing protection systems, detect potential corrosion risks and propose targeted improvements. We also carry out checks on grounding and electrical continuity, as these play an important role in the correct operation of cathodic protection systems.

Based on the measurement results, we perform a targeted technical analysis and design study to determine the most suitable cathodic protection system. This can often be achieved simply through strategic placement of the right amounts of a specific type of sacrificial anodes in backfill, or through an impressed current system that provides long-term protection tailored to your needs.

Pipeline Protection
Pipelines

Protection and inspection of critical pipelines

Tailor-made cathodic protection as the ultimate corrosion prevention.

Our pipeline services focus on analyzing, designing, implementing and optimizing cathodic protection systems for underground pipelines. We carry out Non-Intrusive Pipeline Assessment (NIPA) through techniques such as DCVG and CIPS, precisely locating coating defects and under-protected zones without excavating the pipeline.

Additionally, we provide data logging via coupons and mandatory annual potential measurements to continuously monitor the performance of cathodic protection systems. In environments with electrical infrastructure, we analyze possible AC interference and develop appropriate mitigation measures. We also design and implement surge protection to safeguard installations against lightning and electrical disturbances.

From conception onward, we support the design and dimensioning of cathodic protection systems, including current demand calculations and system configurations. In execution, we realize anode beds through excavation work — both distributed at the surface and remote via deep drilling — depending on local conditions.
