Our Duralco high-temperature paints offer excellent resistance to corrosion and weathering. The right choice depends on the operating conditions and the substrate material. Once the surface is descaled, derusted, cleaned and degreased, you can apply the paint with a brush or a spray gun. Tip: two thin coats are always better than one thick coat. For resistance up to 650°C in humid or saline environments, we recommend an aluminum-based paint. For temperatures up to 800°C, our stainless-steel-loaded Duralco 230 paint is the ideal solution.
Our ceramic coatings (BN or graphite) offer low surface energy, effectively limiting the adhesion of molten metals (Al, Zn, Cu…). They reduce wetting phenomena and facilitate demolding. Their thermal stability and chemical inertness extend the life of your tooling, limit metallic contamination and reduce wear. Maximum use temperature depends on the atmosphere: 450°C for graphite and 850°C for boron nitride in air, and over 1000°C under vacuum or neutral gas.
Our BN coatings can be applied by spraying, brushing or dipping. Surface preparation is essential (degreasing, roughness Ra 1.6–3.2 µm) for optimal adhesion. Drying takes place at room temperature. Typical thickness is 10 to 50 µm. Apply thin coats, let each dry, then apply the next — a coat that is too thick will resist less well and risk cracking or peeling. BN offers excellent thermal resistance (up to 800/900°C in air and 1800°C under vacuum or neutral gas).
Our anti-adhesion coatings deliver excellent results in the glass industry. A boron nitride-based product provides very low surface energy, non-stick effect, good chemical inertness against silicate glass, and high thermal resistance (approx. 900°C in air, up to 1800°C in controlled atmospheres). The result is a significant reduction in adhesion, reduced material transfer, and fewer marks or imprints on the glass surface.
